Thanks for checking out Whisky Rookie. If you’re reading this, you’re probably wondering who runs this blog and to learn more about who’s writing the whisky reviews.
My name is Marc. I started drinking whisky about 7 years ago when my boss at the time bought me The Glenlivet 12 Year Old French Oak finished Single Malt Scotch. I had no clue how to drink whisky at the time. And thankfully I didn’t use it to mix drinks.
I didn’t learn to appreciate whisky until I went to a professional chocolate & whisky tasting event. I learned about the basics of making whisky and the aging process. The host also told us about the different types of whisky and the best way to enjoy the experience. Suffice it to say, since that day, I was hooked. I’ve wanted to learn as much as I can about all the different types of whisky out there and their heritage.
When I drink a dram or two, I typically drink it neat or with a teaspoon full of spring water. I have a collection of about 10 different whiskies; Scotch, Bourbon, Canadian Whisky, etc. I don’t have any particular preferences yet and want to try as many different types of whisky I can reasonably afford or have access to.
This blog is my journal of tasting notes and recommendations.
If you want to say “hi”, post a comment on any of my posts or send me a message.
